1. Overview
Casa Nui("Casa Nui," "we," "us") operates a bespoke fashion marketplace connecting clients with independent designers and artisans. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share personal data when you visit our website, create an account, request quotes, place orders, or communicate through our platform.
We serve users primarily in India and the United States. Additional regional notices appear in Sections 12 and 13 below. This document is intended to meet transparency expectations under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and common U.S. privacy requirements, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended ("CCPA").

2. Personal data we collect
Depending on how you use Casa Nui, we may collect:
- Account information — name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), role (client or designer), and profile details you choose to provide.
- Order and quote data — design briefs, measurements, customization choices, quote amounts, order status, shipping details, and payment-related references (we do not store full card numbers on our servers when payments are handled by a payment processor).
- Communications — messages, proposals, revision notes, and attachments exchanged in collaboration sessions between clients and designers on the platform.
- Designer studio data — portfolio information, listing details, pricing, categories, and production notes you submit as a designer.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and similar usage logs collected through cookies and standard web technologies.
- Support interactions — information you send when contacting customer support or submitting forms on our site.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. See Section 11.
3. How we use personal data
We use personal data to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Casa Nui platform;
- Facilitate quotes, collaboration, checkout, and order fulfillment;
- Authenticate users and maintain account security;
- Review in-platform communications for customer support, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, quality assurance, and compliance with our Terms of Service;
- Send service-related notices (for example, quote updates or order status);
- Analyze aggregated usage to improve product experience;
- Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use collaboration messages for unrelated advertising without a separate, clear consent where required by law.
4. Legal bases and consent
India: Under the DPDP Act, we process personal data based on your consent (for example, when you create an account or submit a form), performance of a contract (fulfilling orders and quotes), compliance with legal obligations, and certain legitimate uses permitted by law. You may withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, subject to contractual and legal limits.
United States: We process data as necessary to provide the services you request, to protect our platform and users, and as described at collection. Where state law requires an opt-out for certain processing, we honor applicable rights as described in Section 13.
6. Cross-border processing
Casa Nui may store and process data in India, the United States, or other countries where our service providers operate (for example, cloud infrastructure). When data is transferred across borders, we take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable law, including contractual protections with vendors.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide services, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Collaboration messages and order records may be kept for a reasonable period after completion for support and audit purposes. We may anonymize or delete data when it is no longer required.
8. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we process, including access controls for staff tools such as our operations comms dashboard. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong password and notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@casanuistudio.comwith the subject line "Privacy Request" and enough information to verify your account. We will respond within timelines required by applicable law.
If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your jurisdiction (see regional addenda below).
11. Children
Casa Nui is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact privacy@casanuistudio.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. India — additional information (DPDP Act)
If you are located in India, the following applies in addition to the rest of this policy:
- Data fiduciary: Casa Nui acts as a data fiduciary with respect to personal data you provide when using our services.
- Consent: By creating an account and using the platform, you consent to processing as described here. For non-essential processing, we will request separate consent where required.
- Your rights: You may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and nominate another person to exercise rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity, as permitted under the DPDP Act.
- Grievance redressal: For privacy-related complaints, contact our Grievance Officer at privacy@casanuistudio.com. We aim to acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and resolve them within 15 days, or as otherwise required by applicable rules.
- Legitimate uses: We may process data without consent where permitted by the DPDP Act, including for security, fraud prevention, and compliance with law.
13. United States — additional information
If you are a resident of the United States, the following also applies:
- Categories collected: identifiers (name, email), commercial information (orders, quotes), internet activity (usage logs), and inferences drawn from your use of the platform to improve services.
- No sale of personal information: We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You may request to know, access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and you will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising these rights. Submit requests to privacy@casanuistudio.com.
- Other U.S. states: Where state comprehensive privacy laws apply, we provide comparable rights to access, delete, and correct personal data, subject to legal exceptions.
- Shine the Light: California residents may request information about disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes; we do not engage in such disclosures.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated by email or in-product notice where appropriate. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy, to the extent permitted by law.
